Loren spoke with several people at the Tri-Ratna Co-op school in Bangamati today- the head of the coop, the principal and the math teacher. Several teachers have lost homes. At least one staff member is livening in a tent. One child in the village has died. The Bangamati district has received extensive damage to many homes. Two main historic temples are destroyed. The Hindu and Buddhist temples drew many tourists and visitors to see them. There is a shortage of shelter and basic supplies for district people especially those who have gathered in the open air bus staging area for safety Loren plans to leave in 2 weeks with hand tools. It remains to be seen if the planned project with 16 student teachers from Georgia will be able to participate in the teacher to teacher program at the school. Prayers and support are needed, of course. Steve Tri-Ratna Cooperative School http://ymrc-nepal.org/bungamati/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=37
