Dear Marilyn, So sad to hear of Joe‘s passing, but wonderful that you were all there to celebrate his amazing life. I will never forget him or you at all The HDPs. I have thought of you many times over the years, especially when I was unable to write and was not so good on dictation either We both avidly, read your Christmas letters. I will not forget working with Joe on the contradictions for Maliwada-his patience and persistence, until we finally realised that the ones we had done prior to the latest were much better – we laughed. I will not forget his kindness and his approachable leadership. I will think of him always as a great man. Just a note to say my beloved Joe passed on to the "next chapter" yesterday at 5:41 AM, after a nearly 48-hour, post-stroke journey. Ben, Jon and I were with him for most of that time, and it was a deeply meaning-filled experience of remembering with gratitude. All 4 grandchildren and both daughters-in-law were able to visit early in the process of our “watching, waiting and standing present". The staff at Watson Fields were amazingly loving and supportive during our sojourn, and gathered to witness Joe's “send-out” into the funeral hearse, accompanied by the singing of *Amazing Grace*.
God gives, and God takes away, and we give thanks.
