Dear Colleagues on the Long March of Love, Just a note to say my beloved Joe passed on to the "next chapter" yesterday at 5:41 AM, after a nearly 48-hour, post-stroke journey. Ben, Jon and I were with him for most of that time, and it was a deeply meaning-filled experience of remembering with gratitude. All 4 grandchildren and both daughters-in-law were able to visit early in the process of our “watching, waiting and standing present". The staff at Watson Fields were amazingly loving and supportive during our sojourn, and gathered to witness Joe's “send-out” into the funeral hearse, accompanied by the singing of Amazing Grace. God gives, and God takes away, and we give thanks. Grace and Peace, Marilyn
Dear Marilyn, Sending you our prayers for you and family as you face the next life journey without Joe’s physical presence. I’m confident that his warm memories will comfort you. I’m blessed to have the honor of meeting you. Grace and Peace Sent from my iPhone Batica & Associates

Dear Marilyn, What a journey you and Joe have been on. We are with you in spirit as you mourn his passing and celebrate the incredible journey his life was. Before we became part of the Order, we remember several calls from Joe, inviting us to take an assignment here or there--to be part of the adventure of the Order. We didn't do that at the time, but his "call" was part of the continuing tug that eventually moved us in that direction, and, of course, life was never the same after that. We give thanks for Joe's passion and compassion and lift up prayers for you and your family. May the Presence of the Mystery and the legacy of Joe's life be a source of embracing love, peace, comfort, and hope. Marilyn and family, This is a sacred moment as we stand present with you and your family in the passing of Joe. He was one of our early heroes in the leadership of our OE community and the work of renewal of the Local Church. We are grateful for our work with you folks in Area NY and with later JWM and Bishop Jim events. What a team you two have been! Dear Crocker Family, Joe was our Area Prior when Linda and I were the Philadelphia House Priors. Was a massive move to do Town Meetings and Joe was great at getting the most from the troop when all were needed on the front lines. He made my life so much easier. A great life lived. Dear Maryln, It was sobering to hear of Joe's last hours. The news reminded me of my early encounters with him and you in Kuala Lumpur and of the adventure we had with our many colleagues at the ITI in Singapore in 1969. Working with both of you in the KL House, and later at the HDP and training school in Maliwada and seeing your children growing up in that environment was a memorable experience. My prayers for all of you as you continue the journey without his physical presence. with love.Dharmalingam On Saturday, 29 April 2023 at 04:01:29 am GMT+8, Mari Crocker via OE <oe@lists.wedgeblade.net> wrote: Dear Colleagues on the Long March of Love, Just a note to say my beloved Joe passed on to the "next chapter" yesterday at 5:41 AM, after a nearly 48-hour, post-stroke journey. Dearest Marilyn, We know that the feeling of sadness and numbness feels as if it is enveloping you at the moment. This is a hard time for you and we send our loving condolences as you mourn your beloved’s passing into the glorious light. We remember with gratitude your life with us in the Sydney House, when Jon and Ben were about 6 months old. What a wonderful experience we shared with you then ! I remember Joe working out a way to present left over porridge the next day, as somewhat edible! The ITI in Singapore was also a sentinel occasion as I came to respect and enjoy both of you in your teaching, and begin to know you as two wonderful friends. We are thinking of you Marilyn and so grateful that our lives were touched by Joe and he now rests ‘ well done good and faithful servant ‘ With grateful hearts, Isobel Jim and family. Another member of our meditative council passes on. I only worked with Joe once setting up the Pisinemo project in Arizona and we had an argument over some issue. I remember it well because he really listened to me and "fought" very fairly. I was grateful because I wasn't skilled at arguing. It gave me courage. Dear Marilyn and Family- We were so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. But grateful, too, for his wonderful life. We always admired him for many reasons, but especially for his wisdom, his commitment to our shared mission and his quiet sense of humor and gentle laugh. He is missed by many. May you find Peace that is beyond understanding and Joy in the memories of the good times that you shared. Dear Marilyn, Ben, Jon and families, The extended Balm family sends you all our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Joe. Out thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. I have very fond memories of the Crockers in Maliwada, including the trickle of a creek/canal that came to be called Crockers Creek.
