Dear colleagues,
Thankyou for the discussion related to Chardin.
For me it has to do with his own awareness of Creation and all that is, was and ever shall be.
We are most fortunate to live in a time when for many of us in our world we now trust the wisdom that we live in a 'web if relationships ' I simply love and feel awed about being closely related to the stars!
Journey on and thanks for the 'chat'.
Btw, the Movie ' A Quiet Passion about Emily Dickinson- is and exceptional Film, in my view.
In peace and love,
Isobel Bishop
P.S
We Aussies have ( most of us) put behind us the unspeakable atrocities inflicted on our brave veterans in WW2 by the Japanese. We here we all affected. Forgiveness is a gentle act..

He even refers to the "bold experimenters in Arizona" and notes that "they were praying" as they experimented with the bomb. To me, that chapter supports the official fiction of the US government that they designed and used the bomb for the benefit of mankind rather than their desire to dominate and exploit other nations. Chardin's Mass on the World is moving to listen to but his position on this major event, which to me exemplifies "evil", reveals that he is either naive or is alienated from reality. Now I wonder if his mass and other poetry is one of the opiates that religion has been accused of producing.

He said his theology was the greatest turning point since Paul, AND that Teilhard did not see mankind in communion with the rest of creation, but as the dominant party. I didn't state it as well as Thomas did, but you can find it by following links.
