I just returned from Monterey, CA where Kristen lived. On Sunday Kyle, her brother; Frank, her father. Robert Moselle, her significant other and I went to the hospital where a group of doctors were there to meet us. We had a private room together and the doctors spoke in understandable terms so we could clearly understand the process she was in and we got the information to make the decisions we needed to make. It all started last Wednesday when she had had her big toe amputated, had flu-like symptoms with a high temperature. They found her on the floor in the hospital and thought it was a heart atteck as her heart stopped but she had had a massive stroke to the brain and the only option for her future was 24/7 care in an institution. So on Tuesday we gathered around her and had the machines turned off and let our precious girl go. I brushed her hair. She was wearing a piece of jewlery I had made her. She was holding a drawing that Roxanne, the niece that she adored, had made for her. Kyle downladed her favorite music that we played, We gave her a beautiful pink rose and white lily. We sat around the bed telling "Kristen" stories. She was ready to go so it didn't take her long. An MRI yesterday showed a massive stroke to the brain, and her excellent doctors see no way Kristen can survive.
Joan sang to her this morning: "How could anyone ever tell you, your are anything less than beautiful? How could anyone ever tell you you are less than whole? How could anyone fail to notice that your loving is a miracle, how deeply you're connected to my soul?

We sat around the bed telling "Kristen" stories. She was ready to go so it didn't take her long.
