Dear John and Ann, Thank you John. You both were my first on-the-ground practical methods teachers and spirit guides during a LENS trek to Europe and the Philippines in the early 1970's. My husband, 3 children and myself had barely moved into the Minneapolis house when I was off to Chicago to get to get "trained" by Joe along with a room full of people. I had been hearing about LENS at Guardians Meeting, and had been on a team putting on and attending a LENS in Minneapolis. That was it! You both set the tone, modeled style, imparted tips and support for an extraordinary "on the job" experience. I loved the long conversations with you both and each in your own way have been and will continue to be a part of my meditative council. Journey on..... Love, Beret A quote from David Dunn, sent to me from India many years ago... Life is indescribably full, Unfalteringly real, and unfailingly good. Oh John - this was a shocker. While participating in planning the memorial for Marge Philbrook, I am completely awash in memories of our early days together in Dallas during the late '60's. Your "Collegium" renders me humbled at the mystery of existence and the lives we encounter on the way. Journey on in Grace and Peace, old friend and colleague.
Blessings to you and Ann.

Gordon Harper was always a role model for me, partly because of his humor, articulateness, and creativity. I especially appreciated his final posting which he termed a brief collegium. So here goes mine.
Yesterday I was enrolled in a home hospice system. It represents the culmination of 13 years of treating prostate cancer which now has expanded beyond that. The very good doctors have done all they can and recommended that hospice care is next. Ann is taking very good care of me. No one knows or says whether there are days, weeks or months left, so I wanted to let you know and to say two things.
1. First, I want to apologize for any and all offenses occasioned by my arrogance, naivete, and ignorance.
2.More important, I want to express real gratitude for the privilege of being part of this body of colleagues. It’s like what an extended family would like to be but never quite makes it. You are my extended family and I’m honored to be part of it.
I probably won’t be posting any more on this list serve but will continue reading it avidly.
Grace and peace to all y’all.
