Two new, old poems. David Becoming As I watched the stars fall from the sky, I knew instantly that heaven was gone forever. Before dawn, when it had become clear that far is near and beyond is within, I was embraced by a Holy Mystery the filled me with awe, took my breath away, and opened the floodgates of my heart. Now when I listen to the silence, and look past the brilliance of the sun, trying to imagine before the beginning and beyond the edge of everything, I am certain that the becoming we were called to be before time began will be fulfilled in us today.
