And yet.  Some of the MAGA folk are engaged in day to day support work for low and moderate income families.  And they do not trust what seems to be a threat and a double standard to their challenges.  Some see ‘apple cart upset’ as the answer to blind regulatory and arbitrary rules that don’t fit their experience.  Not arguing agree – but to hear as more than ‘evil.’

True, but we dare not gloss over the reasons we’re not on the same team, and in the process sacrifice our principles. The kind of unity Biden and some others are talking about is based on the trust that, as some have said, we are all trying to accomplish the same goals, or we all have the same vision, but we just have different ways of getting there. I could probably say that about some “standard” conservative Republicans, but I do not “trust” the MAGAs to be about what is in the best interest of the country and the world and could never be on the same team with them or their leader.

On the Sunday talk show on ABC, Reince Priebus, former head of the RNC, and Donna Brazile, former head of the DNC, were, I don’t know, trying to make nice, model cooperation, demonstrate bipartisanship, whatever. Brazile’s closing comment to Priebus was something like — whatever, we’re all on the same team. I just have to say as clearly as I can, and with no vitriol at all, well almost none, We are NOT all on the same team!!!

Yes by all means pray to tamp down the incendiary and vitriolic discourse, and all the same pray for a chance that the Republic (not “ans”) be preserved. I still think the main originator of the latest such discourse be removed “far away from us” as I was thinking of the question the villagers in Fiddler on the Roof asked the Rabbi: “Is there a blessing for the Tzar?” After much thought the Reb prayed:; “May God bless and keep the Tzar . . . . . . .far away from us.” Certain parts of our body politic still need to be removed, but not by assassination, rather by the ballot box and the duly appointed court system of our beloved Republic. What is the most effective wording for my Prayers for your country at this time ?
