I have just read Strange New World, by Carl R. Trueman. It traces the history of how we got where we are today with such animosity between people with different opinions and ends with recommendations. It is truly a must-read.

We have it, Carleton started it--and then went to another book, and I haven't started it yet.  Tthat's as far as we've gotten.
