Thanks for the memory! I especially enjoyed seeing Charles Lingo again. Their story is amazing: acid in the pool in Florida and afterwards a trip to jail,  then the very next day the Civil Rights act is passed after a HUGE filibuster!  
 
Thanks again for sharing that with us. I suspect we are moving into another time in the history of our country when there will be more "acid in the pool" moments.

Here's the Story Corps reminiscence by Charles (Al) Lingo & his friend who were involved in the "Swim-In" which ended in the hotel worker dumping acid in the pool.  I think 1964.
We've probably shared it before, but not for awhile, and it's so worth remembering now & then.
