Thank you, Mary.
Kerala has long been a paragon of a responsive, people-oriented political system. The world can learn much from their very human demonstration of self-determination and the interconnectedness of all peoples.
Toward the creation of avenues of participation in caring for a more human planet,
Dawn

Mary,
Thank you for sharing your cousin’s article. We have been following the news of the flooding in Kerala. It’s so good to hear from someone close to things how so many have come together to help. Tragedies are such a clear animating force for breaking down barriers and focusing us on our common humanity. Let that spirit spread and be sustained.
Marsha

A couple of people have enquired about the flood situation in Kerala
This article has been written and published by my cousin's son Vivek George who lives and works in Kochi, Kerala.
Personally, I think that the task of rehabilitation is a grassroots task that is likely to take 30 to 40-years if we treat Mother Earth kindly and work collaboratively.
I share this because we have a great deal to learn about tragedies and how we can work together to address the immediate issues and work on long-term solutions. It is the task of cultural re-orientation and recreating paradigms that demonstrate our interdependence.
May we have the grace to listen carefully, learn well and work collaboratively for our common well being,Mary
Kerala just witnessed the worst flood in a century. It has damaged thousands of homes and displaced hundreds of people. Now as water recedes, this flood has made us think and realize that we have not lost everything. Please read through this article which details 10 positive takeaways from this calamity.
