Umm, just a guess, but I think they are talking about the ‘second coming,’ post-resurrection in the story. Check out the Apostle’s Creed, etc. The construct of history in the classical confessons has an endpoint. Interestingly, the word for ‘end’ in Greek is the same as ‘purpose,’ and the same as ‘perfect’ or ‘finished’ – telos. Where we get teleology or – well, what is your end purpose?

We can talk about the perspective that the end/purpose of history is grace, transparency, compassion, forgiveness, responsibility – no matter what it looks like now. ‘eschatology’ comes from the Ancient Greek words éschatos ("last") and -logía ("the study of"). Last can also mean ‘ultimate.’

Someone said, “the babe in the manger was the man on the cross.” Is that what you mean by coming again?

Yes, but the good seeds show up at the end- it takes time for them to show up--took a babe in the manager.
