At the time Dick was inventing the "LENS Pilot" at Hughes Tool in Houston, I was working as an engineer for a competitor Reed Tool - also in the oil field drilling business. Dick's tenacious attention to detail and passion for results was amazing to behold - and was the key to the widespread use of participatory patterns in a tough, no non-sense blue collar workplace. His pioneering gave me courage to pursue private sector clients with ToP methods Malaysia, Indonesia, Jamaica, Nigeria, Miami, and Chicago...he has been a nuts-and-bolts member of my meditative council for a long time. Journey on Dick, Journey on...thanks for a great spin through the galaxy and now on you go...Rest in Peace, All is well on the home planet.

Dick was a champion of LENS and the work we did with Hughes Tool. He worked closely with Rick Laudermilk to see through the implementation of the strategies and tactics they produced. It really was our “demonstration” of how effective LENS can be and led directly to many other corporations in which we worked closely in making success happen. But Dick was “our kind of person” who is always needed if real change is going to happen. I so respected him as a sign of what it meant to be a trans-establishment person within the structures of the economic world. I will really miss him. Another star in our firmament of those of the Order who have died on the March.
