Re: [Oe List ...] Dan's status report?
I talked with Dan for the first time since his surgery yesterday evening. He is still in intensive care. He is still in much pain. The tricky part, at the moment, is giving him enough pain medication without him going off the deep end and hallucinating. He sees things in this state. He has a hard time forming sentences and that frustrates him even more. His spine is seriously mis-shapen and no one knows whether or not the surgery will alleviate the pain that prompted all this to begin with. I thought he did pretty well with sentences but, he will pause trying to think and articulate a word he looking for. I believe we all do that from time to time. Regulating the pain seems to be the chief challenge for now. More when I have it. Lee On Oct 22, 2012, at 6:21 AM, rebeccajnichols@aol.com wrote:

Thanks Lee, for keeping us posted. When we meet on Wednesday, I would like sa few minutes to chat with you re: wheelchairs, that is, on behalf of Dan. I have heard his story about not wanting one, and .... Hoping you and Leah are sleeping well and feeling as if your body belongs to you once again. See you soon.
