We were with the Tippett family in our early Cleveland years. Our families joined the Order and entered the Cleveland Religious House in the fall of 1970. Meg and I were the same age so we were together through children's structures quite a bit. I'll never forget the day I heard about her accident...I was so sorry for the news. I have great respect for the tremendous care her family has provided over her lifetime. Here are a couple of pictures of Meg and other of us kids from the Cleveland House on our way to the summer Camp in Bay St. Louis outside New Orleans. One is the 3 Rafos girls, Linda Becker, Mark and Kristen Cramer and Meg and Kit Tippett leaning on the Rafos van. The other is the front stoop of the house where I see Martha and Dick, Judy Tippett, the Beckers, Sandy Rafos and maybe the Wygants (sp?). This is the bright, sparky Meg that I remember. How very special to have these stories and these delightful photos. I hope others will also be forthcoming. Thank you for sharing. When we moved to Galax, VA, John’s hometown, about 1984, the Mike and Judith and Meg and her caregiver came to visit us as they traveled somewhere to visit other family. We were cared for by having this family look us up and include us in their travels. Because we lived upstairs over our store at that time, we could only visit in the local park. Thank goodness it was a cool sunny day. Meg enjoyed watching the children on the slides and swings. The Bushman family was always close to the Tippett family in Cleveland and in Chicago. Our young sons LOVED being invited on Pic-a-nics with the Tippetts where food and games and collegiality were plentiful. So many memories of all three wonderful young women. Meg was always looked up to with her friendly and kind nature. Meg carried that fabulous style through the rest of her life as an exemplar of courage and peace. It was always a joy to visit her and be welcomed with that great smile and often, a good laugh if someone shared a joke. May she rest in peace.
Rest in Peace Dear One.

Dear Lynda and John:
This is what we've been sending out:
Dearest Family and Friends:
RE: Update on Meg Tippett
First, let us apologize for the mass email. We would love to speak with each of you individually, and welcome that opportunity, but wanted to get out the basics to everyone at once.
Last Monday (10/24) Meg was taken to the emergency room at Frederick Health Hospital because she was having difficulty breathing. As Mike was in Chicago visiting daughter Brooke and husband Keith, Kit and husband Jimmy met Meg at the ER. There were many attempts to determine the cause of Meg’s distress and many tests were run. Despite all efforts, Meg continued to be in terrible distress and the Doctors were unable to get her breathing under control, so she was placed on a ventilator and admitted to the ICU.
Mike came home Tuesday and Brooke arrived in Maryland on Friday.
After six days in the ICU and attempts to stabilize her breathing, Meg was taken off the ventilator and moved to the hospice unit in the hospital. Tuesday (11/1) morning she was moved to a lovely hospice facility in Frederick where she will be kept comfortable as she passes.
Under Mike and Judith's care, along with wonderful caregivers, especially our beloved Dawn, and with encouragement from so many of you, Meg thrived and while we will mourn her loss, we can be comforted knowing that she had the best life possible.
With so much love and gratitude, Mike, Kit and Brooke and the rest of our family.

Sosad to hear of Meg's death. I loved the comment in the letter that Meg had the best life she could have had (under the circumstances). In many sense we don't get to choose theife we will have. This was true for Meg as well as Mike, Judith, Kit, and Brooke and all other members of their family. Praise to Mike and Judith for their love and care. May Meg rest in peace.
With care to the Tippett family as they gather this Thanksgiving with Meg’s and Judith’s presence in spirit with them,
Lynda and John Cock

Dear Mike Tibbitt and Family, Being in Florida, Bob and I had many opportunities to visit with you, Judy and Meg over the years -- and enjoy many lovely Thanksgivings with your family. You and your family are truly to be honored. You gave Meg so many good years -- making sure she watched her favorite TV programs, jet skiing on the Gulf of Mexico, making sure she received her meds daily, hiring aides that took her into the swimming pool daily, taking her to church weekly helping her to make so many friends and many other adventures you took her on. I'm truly sorry for your loss, but then again, we never know when our time is up. May you live in thankfulness and peace and have those joyful memories sustain you all.
