Here's the Story Corps reminiscence by Charles (Al) Lingo & his friend who were involved in the "Swim-In" which ended in the hotel worker dumping acid in the pool. I think 1964. We've probably shared it before, but not for awhile, and it's so worth remembering now & then. Nancy, Thanks for the memory! I especially enjoyed seeing Charles Lingo again. Their story is amazing: acid in the pool in Florida and afterwards a trip to jail, then the very next day the Civil Rights act is passed after a HUGE filibuster! Thanks again for sharing that with us. I suspect we are moving into another time in the history of our country when there will be more "acid in the pool" moments.
