FW: rocking the Methodist boat in Texas
Dear Colleagues, Kathleen asked me to post this on the list serve. Marilyn Crocker From: Kathleen Jones [mailto:revkath@gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2014 10:04 PM To: Marilyn Crocker Subject: Re: FW: [Oe List ...] rocking the Methodist boat in Texas Do me a favor. Post on the list serve on my behalf the following: Marshall Jones is correct. The social process cannot be subdivided into standalone units. The imbalance in Basic Roles is not separable from the horror that has been wrought on the planet by unbridled white male privileged capitalist profiteering. It is no accident that the avatar of these hate-driven arguments is Ayn Rand's protagonist. This is a whole systems planetary crisis. Despite Kamala Parekh's efforts with the women in Maliwada, India is a deadly place for women. As are many American colleges. I challenge every white Western male, which includes Australians, to look at your own life and see where gender as well as skin color has given you advantages not accorded to women. If you would like help, I can recommend the names of some Order wives and ex wives you can consult. And no, it's not now nor ever has been about sex. It's about force, domination, and privilege. In all the triangles. Was even the Mahatma exempt? I think not.
Friday morning, Judy and I (and our dog, Ty) are leaving Tolleson in our Eurovan camper, heading for the California Coast, then up to the Pacific Northwest. Jenny Wiegel and her family (Winston, Amaru, Amaya) are flying in to Seattle Saturday at midnight from Nicaragua. They will spend a week in the area, including sending Amaru off on his Rite of Passage journey on Sunday morning June 29. We will join up with them for most of the week. They fly back to Nicaragua the night of June 30th. We head off for Chester Nova Scotia, probably driving through Canada, probably getting to Nova Scotia mid July. Love to see any of you. A couple of specific questions: especially from Jenny and Winston and family: Where can we go salmon fishing? Where can we walk on a glacier? from Judy and Jim Places to see / camp / visit going up the coast? Heading across Canada what are not to miss places, people, especially past Banff? Is the trip across the top of Lake Superior a good one?
