Re: [Oe List ...] OE Digest, Vol 111, Issue 6
Memorial for George West Date and time of the memorial service please. George and John Bengel worked together in Conacaste, Guatemala. John brought two teams of college students from DePauw University to dig the deposito, a water storage system to feed the water taps in the village and to feed the drip irrigation system modeled on an Israeli design. John said that George was the best prepared, although getting a bulldozer from the state required herculean efforts..That work was a missional highlight for John. He and Fred Lamar from DePauw continued those trips after we were removed from the Order in 1985, including an entire class of medical students from Harvard which John and Dr. Joan Fleishman organized. The mission continued. Elsa On Sun, Jun 6, 2021 at 7:09 AM <oe-request@lists.wedgeblade.net> wrote:

Let us not forget George?s first wife, Rose West, whom many of us knew in the old days on the West Side and thereafter. Rosie was a good woman, with many troubles. George supported her for many years and she was his parter in mission through his time in Central America. We, who loved Rosie, wish that she be remembered, along with George.
