Announcing the completed life of Gordon Harper
Dear family, friends and colleagues, It is with heavy heat that I write you of Gordon's death yesterday, February 8, around 6:30 PM. His leukemia took fierce hold of him this past Thursday and quickly ran its course. He was not in pain but continued his labored breathing for life until he could no longer resist. Geoff, Stu, Elena and I will be planning his memorial service at Seattle First Baptist Church in the coming days and will send you specific information as soon as possible. Grace, peace, and love, Roxana -- *"It seems to me that I have greater peace and am close to God when I am not "trying to be a contemplative," or trying to be anything special, but simply orienting my life fully and completely towards what seems to be required of a person like me at a time like this."* -- Thomas Merton
Gordon's written reflections to his community after he knew of his impending death are among the final expressions of the care he exuded over his whole life's journey. With gratitude, Randy Williams Sent from my iPad

Hello Roxana, Jim and I are grieving with you and your dear family at this moment. We remember Gordon with such gratitude that our lives were touched by his grace and humanity, in so many different contexts. Maliwada and Singapore are extremely poignant. Rest in peace, Gordon, and journey on. with our love, Isobel and Jim Bishop. On 10/02/2016, at 2:20 AM, Roxana Harper via OE <oe@lists.wedgeblade.net> wrote;
