Shirley Snelling remembrances, service, and appreciation
Hello colleagues. We celebrated Shirley Snelling’s completed life last Thursday evening at Park Hill United Methodist Church in Denver. Alan Heckman (Shirley’s grandson), Dr. Tom Wolfe (President of the Iliff School of Theology), and I (an Iliff classmate of Shirley’s in 1964) offered appreciations. Clarence was present with members of his family. Shirley’s family (John, Cynthia, and Anita and their families) were also present, along with members of Park Hill UMCh, where Clarence and Shirley were members, and EI/OE/ICA colleagues. I’ve attached a compilation of your email remembrances, the service booklet, and my appreciation. Apologies if any of your remembrances of Shirley didn’t make it into this compilation. Send them to me and I’ll add them to the compilation I’ll share with the families. Grace and peace. David, thank you so much for this historical placement of Shirley's life in the waves of change of the 20th century. I find it a great perspective to share about our work with the Ecumenical Institute as well as a backdrop for the vocation decisions that many of us made. Grateful for Shirley and Clarence's leadership and those other Iliff classmates that are also a part of our history, Lynda and John From: "OE@lists.wedgeblade.net<mailto:OE@lists.wedgeblade.net>" <OE@lists.wedgeblade.net<mailto:OE@lists.wedgeblade.net>> Reply-To: David & Burna Dunn <dmdunn1@gmail.com<mailto:dmdunn1@gmail.com>> Date: Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 9:13 PM To: "OE@lists.wedgeblade.net<mailto:OE@lists.wedgeblade.net>" <OE@lists.wedgeblade.net<mailto:OE@lists.wedgeblade.net>>, ICA Dialogue Listserv <dialogue@lists.wedgeblade.net<mailto:dialogue@lists.wedgeblade.net>> Subject: [Oe List ...] Shirley Snelling remembrances, service, and appreciation Hello colleagues.
