Hello Frank and Beret, This is the first photo of Charles Perkins, a very early Aboriginal activist. Redfern, November 1967, on Joe’s second visit to Australia. I think. Jonathan recently pointed out the second photo you showed us, Frank. Charles was the catalyst for the Freedom Ride which some University of Sydney students took to a place called Moree, in western New South Wales. This action was to allow the swimming pool in Moree to become desegregated, so that Aboriginal people could swim in the Pool as well as white people, in 1968. Best to you all, Isobel Bishop.
