*FRI AUG 29* *Lyndon to Sterling, IL*
Breakfast wasn’t until 6am. By that time daylight was coming in. I got up early and got all my sleeping gear packed before breakfast. Ed made pancakes for breakfast. They were delicious but a little gritty. When I asked Ed about it his presupposition was that it was the buckwheat flour. It was as 16-mile ride. Our campsite was Sinnissippi Park, on the east edge of Sterling. There was an auditorium divided into two parts. I found out which one would be used for kitchen/meal-service and put my sleeping gear out on a table in the other section. I don’t always sleep on a table. Izzy does. Neither one of us have fallen off a table yet!
I got there in time to: do some journaling; create a digital copy of my initial Rational and Experiential Aim for an Online Course-- Reversing Climate Change—One Step At a Time, and; getting the initial information out to people who might have some suggestions that would help me get started. In the late afternoon there was a film shown, that came off the Web. There was a group working on logistics for the Chicago Rally. Andre, our Native American Marcher was in charge of the evening meal. His cooking crew made a delicious meal. I got tomorrow’s route on paper that I can carry in my vest and hit the sack because tomorrow is a 21 mile day and we'll get up at 4:30am.
