Re: [Oe List ...] Robert Shropshire
Presence. Shropshire was just sheer presence. I got to calling him "Robert" with the accent on the second syllable, (to his chagrin), just so he would be distinctive in my ear. And not take his genius too seriously! With the continuing parade of beloved colleagues marking their dots on finitude, the Titanic song takes on an existential meaning. "My heart will go on" somehow keeps a connection in place. A service will be held for him on Saturday. Wanda and I will never forget Robert. When he arrived at Mowanjum, he was the star of the show, everyone thought he was the greatest. Years later Robert and I had a great time playing music at the summer programs. I'm sure others of us have memories of Robert, too. George Holcombe 14900 Yellowleaf Tr.
