For those of you who are not on Facebook, here's a link to the photo: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10204113639137714&set=a.2226724104090.2129568.1127401599&type=1&theater Participants in the Great March for Climate Action passed directly through the heart of Fifth City yesterday as they marched from the Chicago city limits to the Picasso statue in the downtown Loop. Several local residents joined the 40+ coast-to-coast marchers including members of the Fifth City Preschool Management Team. A small group of us stopped for a photo in front of another iconic statue in Chicago, the Iron Man, as we marched by. To our complete delight, Verdell Trice met us there as a gesture of his life long commitment to social change; he is a very lively 90 years old! Appearing in the photo left to right are Lin Zahrt, David Zahrt (who is marching from one ocean to the other), Paul Noah, Sally Stovall, Verdell Trice, Betty Beal, Dick Alton, Pat Turner, Terry Bergdall, and (though not pictured due to serving as the photographer) Pam Bergdall. As you can see, it was a beautiful day. Though not physically present with us yesterday, we are very grateful to colleagues, many far away, who are with us in spirit for sustainability activities throughout the entire month via: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ica-sustainable-september/x/8448658.
