Brueggemann’s insight in one of the quotes that you shared here, “…the imagination must come before the implementation” is, I believe, the foundational truth upon which what we called “imaginal education” stands. I’m certain we would have made that connection had Brueggemann written The Prophetic Imagination before 1978, …or maybe we did. He gave the concept of “vision” a far deeper meaning than merely the imposition of one’s hopes and dreams on the future.
