| Your Weekly Ello: For the Love of Nepal | |
| We are deeply saddened by the earthquake that has devastated Nepal. Over the past few months, many Ello users have shared their love of Nepal and its people through stunning images, and we'd like to share some of these with you.
If you have images, memories, or good wishes you'd like to share with the Ello community, tag them with @nepalearthquake. You can follow along there as well. In the meantime, we urge you to make a donation to UNICEF, which is rushing lifesaving aid to impacted communities across Nepal.
| The earthquake is again and again striking Nepal and North East of India. The entire Himalayan belt is under highest seismic activity for quite some time and we have just ignored it. Unfortunately the erratic and irresponsible manner in which the Himalayan belt is treated with is proving too costly and lives are perishing.
I am now standing out there in Shillong a north east Indian city, looking at my destroyed house. I am carrying coffins of my cousins and friends and burning all my memories one by one…
It’s biting cold and raining over here with power cuts and people on the open ground without their homes…how long we are going to ignore the basic rules of Nature and live in threat?
My apologies if I am not able to respond to my posts in time as I am left with fewer options. I see a grey smoke moving around me, ceaselessly…
