Hi Rob,
Many many thanks for sharing this. I learned so much about a wonderful person and so glad I got to know her personally but now a lot better. Had just read your poems about Mary in "Earthling Love" a few weeks ago.  They are so so touching. What a life, what a love, what a loss.
I didn't know you were a poet. Some great writing in your book. They all touch me in different ways. The one I gave a resounding YES to, was page 59, "I Am Sick, But." Oh, I like to write poetry too. Here's one:

SACRED EARTH

The whole earth is sacred, and our connecting is key.

And it’s the best way I know to help you and me.

For when we’re connected, then deeply we care.

Slaughtering elephants for tusks, almost too much to bear.

And how we treat earth’s creatures, as the sacred beings they are,

Will change things completely both near and afar.

And if the guy that is hungry is sacred too,

I better think about feeding him, isn’t that true?

When I see all life as sacred, and my connection is there.

My love is overflowing and I know how to care.

Dear friends,

Karen Snyder has kindly uploaded an expanded 20th anniversary-year memorial for Mary Elizabeth Avery Work: https://icaglobalarchives.org/mary-work/

It contains a brief biography, her final poem, obituary, eulogy, and some of her artwork. I think that you will experience some of her wisdom and love in her words and deeds.

Blessings,

Rob
