Dear Jack,
I'm so relieved that your surgery was successful. I had a gall bladder removal earlier this year, and it was a success with no complications, other than some dietary sensitivities, which I had before the operation as well, since the gall bladder had been dysfunctional for some time. Yikes! Get rid of that gallstone asap -- and get back to enjoying all the pleasures of normal eating!
Food is good! Right? Right!

Subject: [Oe List ...] Operation Successful!
Here's Margaret Scott, sitting on the edge of Jack Gilles' hospital bed, writing you on his behalf with lots of good news. The removal of the gall bladder went beautifully. The surgeon did find a stone lodged in the duct that must have arrived there since the MRI
last week. So now on Thursday Jack will have a procedure that starts through his throat to get to that duct and fish out the stone. Meanwhile, he will be in the hospital because he can't eat until that stone is gone and so is on the intervenous drip. His spirits are those of "good ole Jack!" He says, "I will have my laptop tomorrow and will be able to communicate with you then. Hope you are all fine!"
Best from both of us!
