Life here at 4750 is so exciting. We have 40 college students who have come to intern for the adventure of the Accelerate 77 program. They are interviewing persons from the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago and inviting them to participate in a Neighborhood Fair September 13th to share "approaches that work" in creating a new environment for the city. Oh, and several of the ICA staff here are planning to take their kids to Nepal for the I.C.A.I. gathering in November. I remember being in Egypt in '96 and cruising up the Nile with my husband. So - In the midst of all this excitement, we want to be sure that everyone of you considers coming to Chicago for our Fall Archives Sojourn. The time is broadened to include all of the Fall. You can share your experience as you get involved in some of the exciting collections being processed. Look at the attached brochure. Feel free to call me on my cell 773 726 2400 for more information. Marge Philbrook

Is that the date of the 50/50 Celebration in Chicago? I think Dick's birthday is in December and he is over 50. Evelyn On 6/21/2012 7:40 AM, Richard Alton wrote:

Hey Dick....is your birthday in August? I hope to be in south Iowa the 2nd Sunday in August [the 12th] and could consider a stop at 4750 on the way west or on the way back east, sometime between August 7 and the 17th. Any occasion to work at Kemper in the cool, cool, cool of the first half of August? It is 98/99 here today and expecting the same tomorrow. The grass will be drying out fast! Iowa has a down pour of tonight. May you be as fortunate tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing when you settle on a reunion around the riches of the Archives. Muriel and Bob in Holyoke, MA
It would be wonderful to have Muriel and Bob in the Archives in early August. When you figure out the exact dates let us know. We don't make guaranties about the cool, cool bit, but so far the Air Conditioning is working fine. We are planning short and long term tasks when people come. Your idea of a "reunion around the riches of the Archives sounds great." Will you help us plan it? Marge Philbrook and Jean Long at 4750. Dick tells me I made a mistake and the date of the 50/50 celebration is the 15th at Truman College, nearby here. Somehow the "longed for perfection" does not appear. I think Dick has stopped having birthdays. Grace and Peace, Marge On Wed, Jun 20, 2012 at 9:04 PM, Evelyn Philbrook <joyful52@gmail.com>wrote:

Dear Colleagues,
I am excited that The Courage to Lead is presently a bestseller on the iUniverse bookstore site. Thank you to everyone who downloaded an ebook or bought a paperback. Jeanette Stanfield The Courage to Lead ebook paperback bookstore.iuniverse.com www.icacan.org
That's good news, Jeanette. I just gave my first copy to an associate pastor who is going to another church after several years here at Blooming First UMC. She said, "Interesting you brought this to me; I just finished a long conversation with a Leadership Consultant. Maybe I will have to send her the updated copy. Hi Doris, Thank you for sharing this. We are just finding that people experience the 2nd edition easier to read. However the main understandings shared in both books are the same. Warm regards, Jeanette On 2012-06-26, at 11:31 AM, Doris Hahn wrote:
