Marge Philbrook in Hospice in Austin
Sunday, May 17, 2020
We, the family of Marge Philbrook, invite you to join us in a vigil during the final days of her life. She is in Austin, Texas, in her home there with Kenneth and Deana Henry, and their youngest son Ethan. She has been under Hospice care for several weeks. We, individually in our separation, have devised ways to mark this time in our own homes – setting up altars, wearing commemorative items such as a red ribbon-– but we also are contributing videos (songs, stories or readings) that Marge can listen to, or written messages that can be read to her. We would invite you to share with Marge during this time as well. You can submit videos to https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqdIShKmWL8kg4ltJdhQpep4-c1lhA?e=TtYWaR <https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqdIShKmWL8kg4ltJdhQpep4-c1lhA?e=TtYWaR>. You can also submit stories, poems, prayer or memories via email to Marge2020@gmail.com <mailto:Marge2020@gmail.com>. We will send another announcement out when Marge has completed her life. Thank you for joining us in this vigil to remember and celebrate Marge’s sacred journey with us and with her.

We’ve seen cardinals recently and had determined that they have a nest in the holly bushes near the garage. Yesterday morning when we were cleaning up the patio we noticed several smaller cardinals flying low and playfully around the yard. I immediately thought of the gathering in person and virtually of the Philbrook clan as they watch and wait with Marge. The Red Cardinal was a favorite spirit bird for Marge after Phil died. We send prayers of thanksgiving for Marge and Phil’s lives of service and for giving us the amazing Philbrook family to be part of our journey onwards. With care and celebration of this good and faithful servant. Thank you for sharing with the community Marge's current journey. Marge is a real Spirit giant. She was one I looked forward to going to Chicago for ICA Board meetings. Her welcoming smiles and life lessons here and there. One such lesson was something about EFT (can't remember what the letters stood for now) that she used to take care of aches and pains. She tried it on me and, well, it worked! Sending my love and prayers for her next journey and comforting embrace to all of Philbrook family. To the Philbrook family, Marge served her life with vigor and dedication. I really enjoyed the time that I spent as her immediate neighbor in the GreenRise Intentional Community and working with her on the EI/OE/ICA Archives. From all the stories I heard about her life, Marge was a tour de force with whatever project she was involved. I appreciated her practical approach and her humor. Definitely a life well worth lived. I have painted a portrait of Lyn Edwards. It is in oil and 14x18. A few folks have asked for prints in a smaller size so I thought I’d check and see if anyone else is interested before making prints. Prints can be either on canvas or heavy watercolor paper. And of course, the original is also for sale ;). Pricing will depend on how many ask for prints to lower the cost. Thanks for your interest! Lyn is so beautiful. Elizabeth, you have captured the sparkle in her eyes and the radiance of her face. Our saint, Lyn.
