Re: [Dialogue] [Oe List ...] Seeking your wisdom
Thinking about the concept of Stakes, the One Earth Film Festival is one program done by Dick Alton’s organization, Green Community Connections. The film festival now has an internet-based access during this very week for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. It appears that we can register online and fully participate. Another program that seems to be truly Stake-based is the Green Block Party. Green Block Parties: 1. Mobilize for Monarchs 2. Family-Friendly Lawns 3. Plastic-Free Living 4. Sustainable Food Wouldn’t it be great to replicate the Green Block Parties around the world! Both of these concepts (internet-based & stake-based) seem RIGHT ON to me. Dear colleagues on the journey, I think our community development model is a critical dimension of our offering to society at this time after the Covid 19 pandemic dies down. I think the stake dynamic is a particularly important offering at this time.
I am trying to figure out how we go about offering this . Mary _______________________________________________ OE mailing list OE@lists.wedgeblade.net http://lists.wedgeblade.net/listinfo.cgi/oe-wedgeblade.net

Not sure I wrote very clearly, the Green Block Party is also a program of Alton’s brilliant organization, Green Community Connections. Nancy On Mon, Apr 20, 2020 at 1:26 PM Nancy Trask <nlt462@gmail.com> wrote:

Dear Mary, You’ve got me spinning on this now — And I’ll bet some of your programming at your school may be stake-based in some ways. I hope you’ll say more about this. The ICA-USA program team does several stake-based programs. They were created in response to the environmental crisis, but as I now see it, COVID response should be more than medical — it should include the building of healthy communities. I’m thinking especially of ICA-USA’s Uptown Garden Walks, Bike Rides, and Coastal educational series. Mary, thanks for getting my brain going!
