I'll always be grateful to Joe. In the spring of 1966 he came to my college and gave all four RS-I lectures one right after the other at the Methodist student center. After that, I decided that life was good and to be a social pioneer--which was a total turnaround
from my previous attitude. That summer I went to an MSM conference at Lake Junaluska in the mountains of North Carolina. Joe, Hilliard, and Fishel taught RS-I and I think RS-IIIA. I then shifted my major to sociology since the revolution was sociological!
I attended Summer 67. And a year later, I entered Divinity school. Needless to say, JWM and the Order had a huge and positive affect on my life.

Blase-You and I and several others were at the Summer event. Do you
remember the large wedge blade that took up the entire backstage wall? Or
the cowbell wake up every morning? (courtesy of yours truly) I just missed
being soaked with a bucket of water one morning. Those were the days.

Is there a shrine for JWM?
This summer I visited the shrine, which is called the ICA Archives at 4750 N. Sheridan. A guardian of these archives, Karen Snyder, gave me a tour and I was totally impressed with the beauty, care, and comprehensiveness of the records?both on paper and on the
web.

I also took a pilgrimage with Terry Bergdahl to 5th City to see the Iron Man and the 5th City Preschool, which has reopened after covid-era reconstruction. The Iron Man (Woman) stands tall and I guess Joe would see it as a fitting tombstone for his memory.
