I could list the holodrome, the Uighers (sp?), Rohingyas, Sudan, the list goes on. Responsible action in the face of all systems is often partial, retrograde, and diminishing the suffering (see Lest Innocent Blood be Shed). We have called ourselves ‘structural revolutionaries,’ and we are. But the dynamics of scapegoating, of dehumanization and unthinking destruction do not disappear in any period of history, nor do I expect them to in the future. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>‘Global leadership’ is a strange phrase. The economic resources backing ‘global leaders’ are not stopping. China, Russia, USA, all are reactive and centered on control and power. Europe is increasingly divided, BRIC is another challenge. Elements of each and elements in each have sought a wider perspective.
