<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">I met Marileen for the first time in the summer of 1971 as a team member. We were assigned to go on one day wonder immediately after the opening banquet and our job was to clean all of the toilets
on the West Side. Only three of us showed up. The priors were busy trying to put together procedures for the next day and others had not yet arrived. I was the only one who knew my way around and I lost both of my compatriots several times during the night.
We finished in time for me to go take a shower before I went to work the next morning and I cannot recall how many times I fell asleep at my desk that day.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">We remained deeply connected from that time on. We also laughed heartily about our first encounter ever after. It was always a joy to spend time with them doing Town Meeting, on a development
week or in another encounter at the 4750 building. In the summer of 84 they even hosted our girls for a week in Iowa. It is hard to find appropriate words for a colleague who changed your life every time you met. It is even harder to express your appreciation
for all that she did and that they represented.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
