Her son Kevin Balm messaged me to say that she slipped into a coma this morning with her organs shutting down. Pat, who is in her 90s, moved to Perth with her family many years ago. Kevin says her 11 surviving children, their spouses and almost all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are with her as they care for her, make practical arrangements and celebrate her life.
