The fires lead almost every newscast here and there is no end to our concern. I am particularly devastated by the loss of wildlife. I found myself crying after a BBC interview with a farmer/rancher who had just been out shooting his cows who had been so badly burned he felt it necessary to spare them further pain. I imagine that she, a long time 5th grade teacher, did not pass up one opportunity to role model and share her perspective with her family as they remained close to her.
