You go to www.PostcardsToVoters.org . Each time you can select one of two or three states to receive voter addresses from. You can decide how many you want to do and they will send you that many addresses - no names. You will also get background information about that race, the candidate, and possible messages. You hand write the postcards and use a pseudonym for yourself. </div><div><br></div><div>I've enjoyed being more in touch with races across the country. They usually don't do primaries but in New York there were a group of 8 democrats who regularly voted with the Republicans against reforms. Six of the 8 were defeated in the primaries by young, mostly women candidates. I wrote postcards for three of them. </div><div><br></div><div>Zoe</div><br><blockquote style="padding-left: 5px; margin-left: 0px; border-left: #0000ff 2px solid; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial,sans-serif; color: black;">-----Original Message-----

<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 13.8px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span><br></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">I have been walking around for so long like that little guy in L’il Abner named Joe bf*stplk (or something like that) who had this rain cloud over his head constantly. Paralyzed by the daily barrage of craziness coming out of Washington and the major media networks, including the Democrats of which I am one, I have been stuck on what action could I possibly take to make any difference. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 13.8px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span><br></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">This week two things happened to shake me and wake me out of this morass of immobility. I attended a showing at the University of Redlands of a documentary film on the life of Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the Farm Workers Union with Cesar Chavez. She and her daughter, who heads up her foundation, were there for a Q&A and to give advice to the several hundred young people who had the same question I had. Much of the advice focused on the upcoming election, making sure everyone possible registers and votes, and supporting progressive candidates. At the end of the evening we were led in a rousing chant responsive chant: “Who’s got the power?” “We’ve got the power!” “What kind of power?” “People Power!” Linda and I left a little more encouraged.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 13.8px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span><br></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The second event, which I now think of as a Wake-Up Call, was yesterday seeing Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 11/9. In my opinion this is his best documentary ever. Hard to watch at times, just as hard on the political establishment, Democrat or Republican, Moore backs up his dramatic assertions with a well-done mixture of facts and figures and visual anecdotal “evidence.” I was disappointed that there were not more of us in the theatre to see it. It is one of those movies Everyone should see, regardless of political leanings. I put it as the cinematic equivalent of Bob Woodward’s book, Fear, on the Trump administration (which I am one-fourth of the way through).</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 13.8px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span><br></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">That said, I have decided to commit to a few simple steps which I plan to take each day.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">I intend to write and post a daily call to action on social media outlets to which I subscribe.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">I intend to locate and support one progressive candidate in the upcoming election, especially women and young candidates.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">I intend to spend at least an hour every day educating myself about further actions that might impact the future of my community, city, state, country, world, etc.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica; min-height: 13.8px;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span><br></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">So my call to action for today: SEE FAHRENHEIT 11/9, if you have not already done so.</span></p><div><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><br></span></div><br><div id="AppleMailSignature" dir="ltr">Sent from my iPad</div></zzzbody></zzzhtml></mellowmilan2@gmail.com></oe@wedgeblade.net></oe@lists.wedgeblade.net></blockquote><br><div id="elnk_signature_1537977200393" style="font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial,sans-serif; color: black;"><p>Zoe Barley <br>116 Jackson Street <br>Denver Colorado 80206 <br><a href="mailto:zbarley@earthlink.net">zbarley@earthlink.net</a> <br></p>
