It was incredibly simple and no doubt quite incomplete. At that time, there hadn’t been much interest in having our history “in writing.” It was mostly carried verbally. However, as years passed, one by one, the earliest people who carried the early history of our journey were leaving us one way or another.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>At the time there were only tons of file cabinets and files and no way to really adequately use them. And most of it came from people adding to it, from their memories. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>At that time, my experience of trying to figure out what happened when and who was there when it happened, and putting it into some simple timeline, taught me the enormity of what this outfit was really doing in this world; what is was accomplishing, that couldn’t fit into such a timeline.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>Since leaving from Chicago for Washington, I must admit I have had very little interest in what has been happening to all those files in all those filing cabinets.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>Now, here we have this amazing piece of work built out of the minds and experiences of so many colleagues.
