September 2016 Ica Australia celebrated the completed life of Frank James
Bremner (25 August 1947-9 August 2016) at Westbourne Park Uniting Church along
with about 60 people in attendance (an eclectic group reflecting Frank’s
widespread interest in and embrace of all of life) and Rev Jonathan Barker
presiding (YOU DID A GREAT JOB Jonathan!). </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 14pt; color: rgb(22, 25, 31);" class="">Frank has been a constant in ICA Australia’s journey. Most members
have fond and poignant memories of him and the following represents a
collection of some thoughts shared by his colleagues: Frank was one of a kind
and is being remembered with great fondness among his ICA and ToP colleagues as
a perceptive, observant, true maverick, full of life and energy, an
intellectual whirl, a loveable man, a gentle giant, with a unique view on life
& a huge thirst for knowledge, a most enquiring mind and a legend.
</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 14pt; color: rgb(22, 25, 31);" class="">He was
also a great ‘connecter’ of ideas and people and people with ideas to each
other. (I explained to my niece that he had introduced her parents to each
other.) He circulated information about members such as when Ray Spencer
returned to Adelaide and a printed article and interview about him. I have never heard him
say a negative word about anyone.
</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: rgb(22, 25, 31); font-size: 14pt;" class="">Thank you Frank!

was great to hear from and meet Frank’s family and hear from his other friends
and colleagues. Several great stories were told. We sang ‘Morning has broken’,
‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Those who wait on the Lord’ and the organ in Frank’s
church is loud and fabulous. The church hall was full, apart from many delicious
treats, of photographs and Frank’s books and many artefacts for people to take
home. Travelling light, I took a Johnny Hart 'BC Right On’ and Terry Pratchett,
‘The Dark Side of the Sun’. (If you would like a physical reminder of, and
further insight into, this lovely man, Sue, would be glad for more books and
records to go, asap.)</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 14pt; color: rgb(22, 25, 31);" class="">And thanks for your memories Lynda and John (unfortunately it was 3am Sat that it arrived here so it was not read at the service but it was noted that ICA colleagues around the world were thinking of him, and I forwarded your message to Sue Cole, Frank’s (friend from school & church and) partner since 2009.</span></p><div class="">Cheers</div><div class="">Karen</div><div class=""><br class=""></div>

<div class="">Frank Bremner has a long history with ICA. I recall that he was a fairly recent university graduate when we met him in 1978 at the Australian Summer Program (in January in Sydney). I recall his humor and drama in leading one of the skits nights. </div>
<div class="">We stayed in touch off and on over the years and I recall that he always seemed to be taking some new classes or certifications. Yes, a great thirst for knowledge and seemed to be a great imaginal educator in the classes he taught. We will miss Frank’s
keen insights shared online. </div>
