THE ORDER BLUE WASH CLOTH STORY<div><div>On one of one of the occasions that colleagues stayed in our home when coming for ICA in the East events, Marge was here and I very intentionally gave her a set of Order Blue towels and wash cloth to use. She inadvertently took the washcloth back to Chicago in her suitcase, then called us to say so, and off it went back East to us! We often, in years to come, had a good laugh about that.</div><div>Ellen & Dick</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><div><div>On Jun 6, 2013, at 10:08 AM, <a href="mailto:beretgriffith@charter.net">beretgriffith@charter.net</a> wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div align="LEFT"><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0">Several mornings during archive sojourns over the past few years, whoever was around in the morning gathered in the ICA kitchen for animated conversation, and often, story telling by Marge. </font></div><div align="LEFT"><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0"><b>The Print Shop Story</b></font></div><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0"><br></font><div align="LEFT"><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0">One summer, JWM assigned Marge to work in the print shop during the summer program, knowing fully well she had no experience in print shop running. He must also have known she would take on the task with good spirits and creativity. Her one request was for two men who did not have family responsibilities and who would not go to the bathroom without asking permission. By this time Marge was fully aware of time demands of working on any project during the summer program. So... knowing her hours would be long, Marge went to Sears and bought two blue dresses. She would wear one of the blue dresses, shower in it, so both Marge and the dress would be clean. She would sleep a few hours, put on the second blue dress and head to the print shop for another day - and repeat the process during the whole summer program. She did not go into the condition of the dresses following her stint in the print shop. </font></div><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0"><br></font><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0"><br></font><div align="LEFT"><font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#000000" letterspacing="0" kerning="0">This just one of the many tales the archives worker bees heard.
