Way back when... O was on a flight out of O'Hare sitting next to a
honeymooning couple. Seemed to me that they wanted some privacy, so I
looked for a another seat... found one next to a white haired clergyman. We
chatted and I shared my stories from living in a family order. He said,
"What you are doing is an important effort for all of us.  I'm in an order
too, and currently assigned to be the President of Notre Dame - I'm Father
Ted Hesburgh." After I caught my breath...I offered Lyn Mathews as a
point of contact... not sure how that connection worked out. I was deeply
addressed by Ted's openness to have an authentic chat with an unknown air
traveler.
