EARTH DAY greetings as we continue to work to live in harmony with Earth and ALL that is in it and to build communities that will midwife the journey through the present ecological crisis we are experiencing, on behalf of present and future generations. What do we call What calls from thedeeps,that pulses through stars and quickensheart’s beat,that surges through waves and cleanses withfire,emerges from dust and breathes soul’sdesire?What do we name What mocks human pride,that bends the Tree of Life, sustainingbeing’s tide?                         How do we greet What calls to our deeps,            that lasers vulnerabilities and loves usinto being,            that mourns lost illusions and leaves usdefenseless,            transforms the present moment andawakens all senses?            How do we embrace What eternalizesfinitude,            that opens wide portals, flooding tearsof gratitude?                         How do we know What calls us to decide,            that gives no guarantee and provides noplace to hide,            that beckons all our care and trumps thedoubt within,            reckons despair and hope and connectsall creature kin?            How do we abide in What struggles tocreate,            that explodes time and space, freeing partnerswith Earth’s fate?                         How then shall we live What chiselspassion’s edge,            that resculpts past’s confoundings andempowers future’s wedge,            that compels us far beyond mind’sstrength or comfort zone,            propels trusting steps into Great Work’sbidding unknown?            How shall we now journey in vastcommunity            with That Which journeys through us profoundlyand boundlessly?
