Dear Elaine and Nelson,
I'm holding you both in my heart as you journey on, each on your own path
yet together in this experience of a transition. Mary Oliver writes in her
poem of Black Woods Forest words that have served me as a mantra.
May it speak to you and offer you peace.

To live in this world
you must do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it against your bones
knowing that your life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.
