I was thrilled to see this photo. It brings back vivid memories of the Cairo house’s December 1984 Pilgrimage to Mt Sinai to see the New Year’s Day sunrise. It was cloudy.

I am now vowed to re-edit and publish the short story I wrote at the time called The Pilgrimage.

Founded in the 4th century and operating continuously since then, it probably is the oldest tradition claiming to be Mt Sinai where the 10 commandments were received. Pilgrims like me (about 100 of us, mostly Greeks) left at midnight to climb to the top in order to be there for sunrise. It was a memorable three days! If you’re interested, see link and photo below.
