Dear Lyn, Heidi, Jo, Karen & Christy
We send our love as we celebrate the rich life that David led.
Elaine & I were fortunate to have the opportunity to work with
David & Lin when we were assigned to Oombulgurri in June 1978.

This was when the government was intensifying it's efforts to move
the people off their land and was spreading rumours that the staff
from the US were CIA agents. The priors in Australia decided they
needed an Aussie face at Oombulgurri so Elaine & I were chosen to be that.
But at that stage in our lives we had never lived in an Aboriginal community
so would have been totally at sea if we had not had the guidance of David
in
what to do.

I also was inspired by his participation in the Climate March to Washington
following his daily reports.

We are grateful for his legacy.

John & Elaine
