Everyone should have such a recovery plan!

Dear Friends

Another beautiful sunny, warmer day in da Burgh today.

Eva was discharged from the hospital late Friday afternoon, still in post-surgery pain, very tired, on a liquid diet, not feeling too well, and going to bed.

By Saturday, she was up and around, albeit moving more slowly, pain level gradually decreasing, doing a few things around the house, and eating soft foods. This morning, she was up earlier and showing interest in getting her next book club book. Maybe even a short walk around the block in the fresh air and sunshine.

Re surgery recovery: Neck swelling down but still using Tylenol for pain. She has a colorful scarf around her neck to cover her "ugly Frankenstein" (her words) incision scar and swelling which makes her squeemish to look at or think about. Still some difficulty speaking due to swelling which affects her throat, vocal cords, and lips.

Re stroke recovery: gradually getting feeling back in left arm. Hand/fingers and fine motor skills still need work and occupational therapy.

A home healthcare nurse stopped by yesterday and did an assessment--almost 2 hours--and was pleased with her progress. We are trusting her healing and recovery process will show signs of improvement each day until, one of these days, her health is fully restored and she will be able to resume all of her normal activities, including returning to work.

We remain so grateful for your continuing prayers and encouraging and loving support throughout this whole stroke/rsurgery recovery process. Eva sends her love and gratitude to each one of you.

Two songs/rituals, among many others that we have been singing/doing as part of the healing process...

1. RUN LITTLE EVA RUN

(Tune: Run into the Future Run), written by Rochester, NY LCX colleagues when she was born)

Run little Eva, run

Run as you live your life.

Run Eva Judanna, run.

Run with us through hope and strife

You are now in the community.

We will serve the Lord as One.

Spread The Word* to everyone you see

from this day 'til life is done.

Run little Eva, run...

(*The Word: Life is Good, My life is received; The past is approved; The future is open.)

2. BEDTIME RITUAL

Who are you?

   I am the greatest.

Where do you live?

   In the Universe.

This day is received as good.

   We can go into tomorrow.

The Mystery is with you.

   And with your Spirit.

NEW WORLD LULLABY

(Tune: Peter Pan Lullaby) Written for her

New World child,

Rainbow Warrior,

rest a while 'til break of day.

One, close your eyes, and

two, go to sleep, and

three, wake to build the Earth

endlessly, endlessly.

Hope you all are doing well. Have a good sabbath, everyone!

Grace and peace,

blessings and love,

Elinor/Ellie/EJ :)
