Thanks, Mary.  Great article.  We've also been in touch with folks Chenoa knows from when she worked there in 2004-05.  Some of these areas in Kerala must have also experienced and had to recover from the 2004 tsunami.

<div>This article has been written and published by my cousin's son Vivek George who lives and works in Kochi, Kerala.

Personally, I think that the task of rehabilitation is a grassroots task that is likely to take 30  to 40-years if we treat Mother Earth kindly and work collaboratively.

I share this because we have a great deal to learn about tragedies and how we can work together to address the immediate issues and work on long-term solutions. It is the task of cultural re-orientation and recreating paradigms that demonstrate our interdependence.
