[Oe List ...] [Dialogue] Fifth City Preschool 50th Anniversary

Isn’t there an old gospel that goes something like “I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy, deep in my heart, deep in my heart, deep in my heart…”? That’s what came to mind in seeing the pic and hearing the story.

Subject: [Dialogue] Fifth City Preschool 50th Anniversary

 

Today, July 26, 2014, the Fifth City Preschool celebrated its fiftieth anniversary of continued operations. To mark the occasion, the City of Chicago named the portion of Fifth Avenue that runs in front of the preschool as "Ruth Carter Lane" (see photos). Ruth's entire family, along with preschoolers, parents, and residents of Fifth City, were there to mark the occasion. Sharon and Bruce Texley, Karen and Jim Troxel, Pamela and I, represented the global EI/OE/ICA community. It was a grand event.

Note:  I posted the message above on my Facebook page along with a photo of the street sign -- which I am attempting to attach here for people who may not have access to Facebook.
