Another story about Georgianna -

In the early 1980s Georgianna McBurney and Kitty Cole designed and led a program called “Standing Tall in the ‘80s”.  The two of them visited local community leaders in each of Chicago’s 77 communities and offered to have the ICA facilitate a Town Meeting, Women’s Forum or Youth Forum.  Some of their footprints can be tracked in the Archives because there is a file drawer with folders of each of the 77 communities holding a program document and contact names of those they visited. Georgianna and Kitty’s teamwork and resulting impact on local communities and organizations across Chicago has been an inspiration to the ICA’s Accelerate 77 program. 

Georgianna’s personal style and leadership has personally impacted my life.
