[Dialogue] Searching for a paper

Hi Jan,

Recently the Centering Prayer group I belong to has been delving into World Without End, (first published in 2017) the text of conversations between film maker and writer Lucette Verboten and Father Thomas Keating. In the course of their exchange, Keating reveals the profound influence the evolutionary theology of Jesuit paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin had upon his greatly expanded idea of God, the universe and humanity moving into higher stages of consciousness beyond the “rational level.” JWM spoke often about consciousness of consciousness of consciousness. I believe our work with the OW in the midst of TW had much to do with this, though truth be, I was too naive at that point to fully understand the relationship. Certainly this all applies to shifting consciousness to a planetary perspective —the union with everything, letting go of the particular controversies, “in order to be no thing.”

Jon and Maureen Jenkins did the most depth work on the OW. You might find a chat with Maureen fruitful.

We dug out an early copy of the Courage to Lead and explored the various dynamics of the OW. It was an enlivening conversation! And yes, we saw some of the early papers in the archives. I am now back from travels and hope to check in with the material again. A key questions is how does this apply to shifting the consciousness to a planetary perspective. Jan

I found a paper by Tillich (see attached) and I remember a paper, I believe by Niebuhr called "We live in 2 worlds" or something that we studied. Anyone recall?? Have a copy?? I checked the Global Research Network website and also the online data base and was unable to find it. Of course, now that I am 78, I have to wonder . .. did it actually exist?

We fled from the heat in Arizona (114 avg in July) to Colorado and a tornado met us. We returned to Arizona and Hurricane Hillary just missed us. We went to a niece's wedding in Oregon and the venue was changed due to a wildfire evacuation order. Now we are back in Arizona, but a brother- and sister-in-law are stuck at an airport in Charlotte because of Hurricane Idalia . . .
